The Championship table predictor combines confirmed league results with your scores for matches that have not been played yet. Every prediction changes points, goals scored, goals conceded and goal difference before rebuilding the projected table.
Completed matches are locked to the real result. If you predicted a match before it was played, the confirmed result takes priority once it is added to the fixture feed.
Matches that have finished are included automatically and cannot be changed inside the predictor.
Enter the exact home and away score for any remaining Championship fixture.
The projected standings update using the real results plus all the scorelines you have entered.
The coloured positions in the predictor follow the standard EFL Championship structure.
The clubs finishing first and second are promoted directly to the Premier League.
Third plays sixth and fourth plays fifth over two-legged semi-finals. The two winners meet in the Championship play-off final.
The three lowest-placed Championship clubs are relegated to League One.
These promotion and relegation rules are set out in the official EFL Regulations.
Exact score predictions matter because the Championship is not ranked on points alone. Goal difference and goals scored are the first tie-breakers when teams finish level on points.
The EFL regulations rank tied clubs in this order:
The predictor applies those football results-based criteria when rebuilding your Championship table.
The Championship has 24 clubs. Each club plays every other club twice — once at home and once away — giving each team 46 league matches and the division 552 regular-season fixtures.
The EFL confirmed that the 2026/27 Championship opening weekend runs from 14–16 August 2026. Fixtures were released on 25 June. You can check confirmed fixtures and results on the official EFL Championship page.
The calculator is therefore a season table simulator, not a model claiming to know future results. The scorelines are yours.
No. The predictor covers the 46-match regular Championship season. Its job is to determine which clubs finish first and second, which four occupy positions third to sixth, and which three finish in the relegation zone.
Under the EFL format, third plays sixth and fourth plays fifth in two-legged semi-finals. The higher-placed club is normally at home in the second leg, and the semi-final winners then meet in the Championship play-off final. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
Because those play-off fixtures only exist after the final league table is known, they are not mixed into the 552 regular-season fixtures in this Championship table calculator.
Future fixtures remain editable. Once a match is recorded as completed, the real full-time result becomes the score used in the table and that fixture is locked.
Your remaining predictions stay in place, so you do not need to restart the season every time another round is played.
Predictions are saved in the browser on the device you are using. Clearing your browser storage, switching browsers or moving to another device will not automatically transfer those saved scores.
Want to run the same experiment with England's top flight? The Premier League table predictor uses the same score-by-score system with the Premier League's 38-matchweek schedule.
The two predictors are separate, so changing a Championship score will not affect the Premier League table or its saved predictions.
If you are working with betting prices rather than league-table scenarios, these calculators handle the maths separately.
The Championship table predictor combines completed real results with the future scores you enter. Points, goals and goal difference are recalculated after each prediction to create your projected Championship table.
Each of the 24 Championship clubs plays 46 league matches: 23 at home and 23 away. That creates 552 regular-season fixtures across the division.
Three Championship clubs are promoted. The top two go up automatically, while teams finishing third to sixth compete in the play-offs for the third promotion place.
The three clubs finishing 22nd, 23rd and 24th in the Championship are relegated to League One under the standard EFL format.
Goal difference is the first tie-breaker, followed by goals scored. If clubs remain level, the EFL then uses head-to-head records before moving to wins, away goals and, if still required, disciplinary criteria.
Yes. Completed fixtures use the confirmed match score, while unplayed fixtures remain available for your predictions. A real result takes priority once a match has finished.
No. It covers the 46-match league season and identifies the clubs finishing third to sixth. The subsequent play-off semi-finals and final are separate from the regular Championship table.
