Is AK Bets Legit?

Yes. The current akbets.bet website is listed as an active domain on the UK Gambling Commission register under Akbo Limited, account 66030.

That account currently holds active remote licences for casino gambling, real-event betting and virtual-event betting. The remote permissions have been active since 27 March 2025.

AK Bets Previously Appeared Under the Star Racing Licence

There is another reason older AK Bets reviews can be confusing.

The UK Gambling Commission still lists akbets.bet under Star Racing Limited's account 9177, but the domain is marked inactive there.

The same domain is currently active under Akbo Limited account 66030.

Why Are AK Bets Reviews So Divided?

AK Bets had approximately 249 Trustpilot reviews and a 2.7/5 score when we checked.

That distribution is more informative than the average score alone. AK Bets is not receiving only negative feedback. It has almost as many five-star reviews as one-star reviews.

The useful question is therefore not simply “Does AK Bets have bad reviews?” It does. The better question is what those reviews are actually complaining about and whether the same issue appears repeatedly.

What AK Bets Customers Actually Say

A large share of recent one-star feedback concerns casino players losing money, failing to trigger slot bonuses or believing games were “fixed”.

Those reviews can describe genuine frustration, but losing repeatedly on a casino game is not evidence by itself that a bookmaker is withholding withdrawals, manipulating sports bets or operating illegally.

No. This is particularly important if horse racing is the reason you're considering AK Bets.

Several unhappy reviewers complained after discovering that a horse's Starting Price was bigger than the price they had taken but their winning bet was settled at the earlier price.

AK Bets has responded publicly to this criticism by making the position straightforward: it does not advertise BOG because it does not offer BOG.

The Winning Horse Bet That AK Bets Paid — Then Voided

That operator response materially changes how we assess the complaint.

It is not evidence that AK Bets routinely removes legitimate winning bets after seeing the result. AK Bets says a technical feed failure meant affected wagers were voided consistently regardless of whether they won or lost.

We cannot independently reconstruct the individual transaction, so we would not claim either party's version has been conclusively proven.

AK Bets Withdrawals: Are They Actually Slow?

The customer evidence is much more positive than the overall Trustpilot rating would suggest.

Multiple bettors specifically praise AK Bets for same-day, rapid or near-instant withdrawals. A June 2026 customer described prompt payouts as one of the bookmaker's strengths, while another current sports bettor praised its withdrawal speed alongside responsible-gambling controls.

We also found isolated negative allegations, including one reviewer claiming to have waited more than five days. AK Bets disputed that particular review and said it could not identify the customer.

These timings were reported by BettingLounge in its 2026 AK Bets withdrawal testing. BetBuzz24 did not conduct these transactions ourselves.

This distinction matters when comparing bookmakers. A quick small withdrawal proves that fast payment is possible, but it does not guarantee the same result for a larger payment or an account under review. Why Does AK Bets Ask for ID, Bank Statements or Card Evidence?

Some of the more detailed negative reviews involve customers being allowed to deposit and then being asked for additional documents when the operator performs further checks.

One June 2026 reviewer complained about being asked for a passport, bank statements, debit-card evidence and a selfie after their account was restricted.

AK Bets responded that details used to open the account appeared to match information on the GAMSTOP database and said the documents were requested as part of its responsible-gambling due diligence.

That does not mean every document request is automatically reasonable or handled well. But the existence of a KYC or safer-gambling check is not, by itself, evidence that an operator is trying to confiscate winnings.

Does AK Bets Restrict Winning Customers?

AK Bets markets itself heavily around “Big Prices and Big Limits”, and at least one long-term 2026 reviewer praised it specifically for accepting bets that were sometimes referred to a trader and then authorised.

That does not mean every customer will receive unlimited stakes.

We also found older complaints from users saying their available stakes or account access had been restricted. A sportsbook is generally managing individual trading and compliance risk, so experiences can differ substantially between accounts.

We did not find strong enough evidence to state that AK Bets systematically bans customers simply because they win.

Are AK Bets Odds Actually Good?

“Competitive odds” is one of those phrases bookmaker reviews use far too easily. A site can have a good price on one horse or football match and a poor price on the next.

The useful approach is to compare the actual price available when you intend to place the bet. Even a small odds difference changes your break-even percentage and long-term return.

The AK Bets homepage currently advertises an “Up To £100 Free Bet” promotion using code AKACCA100.

Current published offer terms describe the qualifying wager as a treble or higher on any sport with minimum combined odds of 2.0. If it wins, 25% of the profit is awarded as a free bet, capped at £100.

What Does “Up to £100” Actually Mean?

This headline is easy to overestimate.

Because the reward is 25% of your qualifying profit, you need to generate £400 of profit from your first qualifying accumulator to receive the full £100 free bet.

Again, we would not turn a handful of app-store reviews into a sweeping conclusion.

What Is AK Bets Best At?

AK Bets clearly positions itself as a sportsbook first rather than simply another casino with a sports tab.

The site also covers tennis, cricket, golf, boxing, darts, rugby, basketball, American football and other mainstream sports. We don't think listing every category adds much value: racing, football, pricing and bet acceptance are the more important reasons to consider AK Bets.

If racing is your priority rather than football, it is also worth reading our BetGoodwin review. BetGoodwin is another smaller UK bookmaker with a strong racing focus, so the comparison is more useful than putting AK Bets against a casino-first operator.

AK Bets Customer Service: Useful, but the Tone Is Unusual

AK Bets promotes Trader Chat and currently advertises access to a human between 8am and 10pm daily.

Some customers genuinely like that direct approach.

But anyone reading AK Bets' public Trustpilot responses will also notice that the brand can be unusually blunt with angry reviewers. Some replies directly challenge the reviewer's account or language rather than using the polished corporate responses common elsewhere.

That does not make the bookmaker unsafe, but customer-service style matters. If you prefer highly formal dispute handling, the public tone may not appeal to you.
